	Celebrating 27 years of Painting Artist's Statement As an artist I believe in adding an element of beauty to everything I depict in my works.  Even sadness or loneliness has a certain beauty that I believe can be made more perceptible and conspicuous through art. And I堡lways tried to do so in my paintings.  Another major characteristic of my works is a mixture of vagueness and ambiguity, as I always enjoy leaving the viewer wondering what is meant by the forms and colors they see in my paintings.  In fact I like to give the viewer a chance to discover more meanings beyond what they see at first glance. Biography Noreen Motamed is an Iranian born international artist.  She attended primary and secondary school in Tehran and graduated in first place from University of Tehran with a B.A. degree in Arts.  She continued her postgraduate studies and once again graduated in first place from Alzahra University with a Master of Arts degree with concentration in painting. She began painting as a professional artist in 1983.  Starting with a figurative art style she then turned to a synthesis of abstract art and figuration, depicting Persian female rug weavers or humans and nature. Persian miniatures have been great sources of inspiration in her latest paintings which are depictions of Modern Iranian in traditional spaces.  She has continued this style while in U.S.A. with a western influence as it appears in some of her abstract figurative 2 collection.  Since 2008 her latest work (abstract figurative 3 collection) reveals a romantic touch that is added to her paintings.
